 THE INGRID MICHAELSON SWEEPSTAKES
(THE “SWEEPSTAKES”)

OFFICIAL RULES

1.              ELIGIBILITY.    NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.   The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of New York and New Jersey, are 18 years of age or older at time of entry, who have access to the Internet throughout the Sweepstakes, and have a Facebook account.  Employees of Yamaha Corporation of America (“Yamaha” or “Sponsor”) and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, dealers and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses) are ineligible to enter and win.  Void where prohibited by law, regulation and ordinance, and in areas outside New York and New Jersey, U.S. possessions and territories.  By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to these Official Rules and Yamaha’s Privacy Policy, as stated herein.     

2.              SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD.    The Sweepstakes begins August 9, 2017 and ends August 11, 2017 at 12:01 pm (ET) (“Sweepstakes Period”).  

3.              ENTRY.   There is one way to enter: 

Ø  ONLINE ENTRY.   During the Sweepstakes Period, visit the Yamaha Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/YamahaEntertainmentGroup and comment on the Ingrid Michaelson post.  Your online post is considered your entry (“Entry”).  Limit one Entry per person. No automated or mechanically reproduced entries accepted; incorrect, incomplete, untimely, lost, misaddressed, misdirected or unverifiable entries are void.  Proof of online submission is not proof of receipt.  Sponsor’s database computer is the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.  

4.              ODDS.    The odds of winning will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.  

5.              WINNER SELECTION, NOTIFICATION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.   Winner will be chosen by random drawing from all eligible posts received.  Potential winner will be privately notified by Yamaha via Facebook.  Potential winner must respond to Yamaha within 1 day or winner may be disqualified, and his/her prize may be awarded to an alternate winner.  If any prize notification is unclaimed or returned as undeliverable, or in the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.  Winner agrees to allow Yamaha to use Winner’s name (whether in print publication, online, or other means of communication), without compensation, to notify the public of your winnings. Winner must pick up prize at Imperial Theatre, Will Call Window, located at 249 West 45th Street, New York, New York. 

Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state and local taxes, and winner may be issued an IRS Form 1099 for the value of the prize.  Winner may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release indemnifying the Released Parties (as defined below) from any and all liability related to the awarded prize and confirming Yamaha’s right to use the winner’s name for publicity purposes.  Each potential winner may also be required to sign one or more additional agreements to confirm all terms of these Official Rules, as well as an IRS Form W-9.  Failure to sign and return any documents when requested, or the providing of any false or incomplete information, may result in disqualification.

The total approximate retail value of all prizes is $450.   No prize substitutions, cash equivalent or transfer of prizes permitted except at the sole discretion of Yamaha.  Yamaha is not responsible for lost or misdelivered prizes due to entrant’s inaccurate or improper address information.  Yamaha is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged prize, once received and in the possession of prizewinner.  Yamaha retains the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater retail value in the event any advertised prize becomes unavailable.    

7.              INTERNET.   If, for any reason, Yamaha is unable to conduct this Sweepstakes as planned due to technical failures, such as those caused by a computer virus, hacking, other unauthorized interference, fraud, or any other cause beyond the control of Yamaha which obstructs or otherwise adversely affects the proper administration, reliability, fairness, or integrity of the Sweepstakes, Yamaha reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any person found to have interfered or tampered with the Sweepstakes, and if deemed necessary by Yamaha in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. In such circumstances, and if practical to do so, Yamaha will endeavor to award the advertised prize(s) among all eligible entries received that were unaffected by the problem. Yamaha assumes no responsibility for any failure in transmission, however caused, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, communications line failure, theft or destruction of information or unauthorized access to entries, their damage or alteration.  Yamaha is not responsible for its failure to receive any email or entry due to software failure, technical problems, human error or transmission congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an Entrant’s, or any other person’s, computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes or downloading of any materials in this Sweepstakes.  CAUTION:  YAMAHA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER PENALTIES, OR REMEDIES, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FROM ANY PERSON(S) ATTEMPTING TO DELIBERATELY INTERFERE WITH THE CONDUCT OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR TO DAMAGE THE WEBSITE.   Any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes , or  to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, or who has previously been barred from any Yamaha offers, social media or other activities, may be disqualified from this Sweepstakes and any future Yamaha Sweepstakes, and Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.    If a dispute arises over the identity of the person who transmitted an entry associated with an identified email address, the “Authorized Account Holder” of the email address submitted at time of entry will be deemed to be the Entrant.  The “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online provider or other organization (e.g. business, education institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addressees for the domain associated with the submitted email address.  Any entry sent through the use of an automated sending device will not be accepted and will not be considered a valid entry. 

8.              PRIVACY.   Personal data collected in connection with this Sweepstakes is governed by Yamaha’s Privacy Policy posted at https://usa.yamaha.com/privacy_policy/index.html.  By participating in this Sweepstakes Entrants further agree to receive information via email from Yamaha regarding the Sweepstakes.  If Yamaha sends future communications via email to Entrants on other topics, Yamaha will provide the opportunity to opt-out.   

9.              RELEASE.  By participating in this Sweepstakes, all entrants and winners release, discharge, and hold harmless Yamaha Corporation of America, its parent company, Facebook, Inc., Ingrid Michaelson, Imperial Theatre and their respective partnerships, subsidiaries, divisions, branches, affiliates, assigns and agencies, including, without limitation, their respective officers, directors, shareholders and employees (collectively “Released Parties”) from and against any and all liability or claims for any and all legal claims, injury, loss, illness, litigation or damages arising out of their participation in the Sweepstakes and/or the acceptance, use, misuse, non-use or possession of the prize.  Any portion of the prize not accepted by Winner will be forfeited, and the Released Parties are not responsible for any inability of the Winner to accept or use the prize (or portion thereof) for any reason.  Released Parties are not responsible for printing or typographic errors in any Sweepstakes or related material or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, postage due, and/or illegible entries or mail.  If, in Yamaha’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of a virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud technical failures or other causes beyond Yamaha’s control corrupt the administration, securities, fairness integrity or proper play of the Sweepstakes and award the prize from all eligible entries received to date tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, Yamaha reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual and/or void any entries submitted fraudulently, to modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, or to terminate the Sweepstakes and award the prize using all non-suspect eligible entries received as of the date of such action.  In the event that any dispute arises regarding the meaning or interpretation of these Official Rules, participants agree that the dispute shall be resolved by applying the laws of California and that it shall be resolved by and within the courts of that state.   For New Jersey residents, the limitations on damages set forth above are inapplicable where attorneys’ fees, court costs, or other damages are mandated by statute.  

10.            GENERAL CONDITIONS.  All federal, state and local laws apply.  Yamaha Corporation of America is the final interpreter of these Official Rules.  The decisions of Yamaha are final in all matters relating to the Official Rules. 

11.            WINNER’S LIST. Winners will be identified within 30 days after the end of the Sweepstakes on Yamaha’s https://www.facebook.com/YamahaEntertainmentGroup or for a written winner’s list, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Yamaha Corporation of America, 6600 Orangethorpe Avenue, Buena Park CA 90620, Attention: CEG/ Ingrid Michelson Sweepstakes.  Requests must be received by September 13, 2017.

Yamaha Artist Nathan East Touring Internationally

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 9, 2014 – Nathan East, whose self-titled debut solo album on Yamaha Entertainment Group debuted at No.1 and featured the No. 1 hit jazz single “Daft Funk,” is in the midst of an international tour which features his first-ever shows as a solo artist.


East, a renowned bassist who has performed on more than 2,000 records for artists including Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, George Harrison, Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Kenny Loggins and many others, will visit Korea, Japan, Russia, England, Denmark and Germany through September.

East played his debut shows as a solo artist in Seoul, Korea supported by his “Daft Funk” co-writer Michael Thompson, his brother James East, Jack Lee, Lewis Pragasam, Norihito Sumitomo and Philip Woo. In Japan last week, East met up with the other three members of Fourplay (Bob James, Chuck Loeb and Harvey Mason) to perform at the Sapporo City Jazz Festival, then for two nights of shows at the Blue Note in Nagoya. Next stop was the Osaka Jazz Festival on Sept. 3. The group completed their tour of Japan with four nights (Sept. 5–8) at the legendary Tokyo Blue Note.

In Russia, East will perform and lead master clinics for the bass and music community there.

 “I’m blessed to have this opportunity to meet some of my fellow bassists from around the world and share some of what I’ve learned over the years and also learn about them,” East said. “It’s always a pleasure to witness the international language of music bringing us all closer together.”

East will lead bass guitar master class sessions Sept. 13 and 14 during the (National Association of Music Merchants) NAMM Musikmesse in Moscow at the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center. East will also perform in an all-star band featuring Yamaha Russia musicians.

In England, Denmark and Germany, East will perform and participate in Q&As and bass guitar clinics at music stores, in association with TC Electronic and Yamaha. East will discuss and demonstrate the TC Electronic bass amps, loopers and fx pedals he uses with his Signature Series Yamaha BBNE-2 5-string bass and Yamaha TRB 6-string bass and SLB-200 silent bass guitars. East has been a Yamaha musician for nearly his entire career and will talk about the bass guitars he uses and has helped create throughout the last three decades. Each free show begins locally at 7 p.m. (19:00) with limited space so musicians are asked to please book their attendance directly with each dealer below.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 28, 2014 — In celebration of the upcoming home entertainment release of Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” on Aug. 12, Yamaha Entertainment Group is auctioning off an incredible Yamaha Disklavier grand piano that has been signed by 18 cast members including Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Josh Groban and is valued at almost $74,000.

Bidding begins Monday, July 28 at 9:00 AM EST and is open through Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM EST through leading charity site Charitybuzz.com. Proceeds will benefit VH1 Save The Music Foundation, devoted to restoring instrumental music education programs in America’s public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.

Beginning Monday, July 28, consumers can bid on the chance to own the Yamaha Disklavier E3 piano, which combines technology with tradition. A modern day “player piano,” it can accurately record piano performances and play back piano performances with all of the expression and nuance of the original performance. As an added bonus, this Muppet-inspired bright green piano comes with the seven songs from the “Muppets Most Wanted” soundtrack.

Nathan East Breaks SmoothJazz.com Record with 25 Weeks at No. 1

The current single, “101 Eastbound,” was just shipped to radio and is an infectious and funky new take on a song originally released more than 20 years ago by the world-renowned jazz quartet Fourplay on their self-titled Platinum-selling debut album. (East is a founding member). The song, written by East and his brother Marcel East, features Nathan East on vocals and on his signature Yamaha BBNE-2 five-string bass and Michael Thompson on guitar.

Additional musicians on “101 Eastbound” include Ray Parker, Jr. (guitar), Rafael Padilla (percussion), Chuck Findley (trumpet), Andy Martin (trombone), Tom Scott (saxophone), Jeff Babko (piano, keyboard), Joel Peskin (tenor and baritone saxophone) and the late Ricky Lawson on drums.

Josh Groban is Green with Envy over His Newest Tour Mate

Aug. 18, 2014 — Yamaha’s incredible Muppets-inspired green Disklavier grand piano will join Josh Groban on tour through the end of the month and is up for auction to the highest bidder at Charitybuzz.com to raise funds for VH1 Save the Music. To celebrate the recent release of Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted on DVD and BluRay, Yamaha Entertainment Group is auctioning off the piano that has been signed by 18 members of the cast and crew including Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey and Josh Groban.

The grand piano will be on public display at each of Groban’s tour stops during the month of August. The singer was able to spend some time with the piano during a recent photo shoot for Yamaha Entertainment Group’s magazine All Access, and even describes his memorable experience in a recent interview with USA Today. "I would sit down and get to know it, and it's just an awesome piano that's a one-of-a-kind color," he says.

Bidding for the almost $74,000 piece has already begun at Charitybuzz.com and is open through Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. EST. Proceeds will benefit VH1 Save The Music Foundation, dedicated to improving instrumental music education programs in America’s public schools. "This is a very special piano both in color and sound,” says Josh Groban. “The only downside to owning it is my seething life long jealousy associated with that responsibility. NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 15, 2014 – The second single from the self-titled debut solo album by heralded bassist Nathan East is an infectious and funky new take on “101 Eastbound,” a song originally released more than two decades ago by the world-renowned jazz quartet Fourplay, on their self-titled Platinum-selling debut album. (East is a founding member)

The single, newly imbued with an exotic flair that captures the vitality of East’s diverse range, was just shipped to radio and is already the second most added.

“‘101 Eastbound’ was written with my brother (Marcel East) and goes way back,” said Nathan East, who picked up the bass in middle school and went on the road with Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra at the age of 16. “I always had in the back of my mind that if I did a solo record, it would be a good song to do a different twist on it. So we updated it with this kind of a sun goddess Earth, Wind & Fire feeling groove.”

This opening track on the album features East on vocals and on his signature Yamaha BBNE-2 five-string bass finessing lilting chords to warm bossa nova rhythms and Michael Thompson on guitar shifting up a gear into an infectious groove.

“It was cool to change directions and go from the little teaser of the Brazilian and then go back to this funky version of the song,” said East, who took a break from touring with White to complete his education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of California, San Diego.
 
“We brought in Tom Scott (saxophone) and the guys on horns for extra flavoring on ‘101 Eastbound’,” said Chris Gero, Founder & VP of Yamaha Entertainment Group, who co-produced the album with East. “Jeff Babko (piano, keyboard) does an amazing solo and the late Ricky Lawson is a master on drums.”

The album features 13 compositions and contributions from Eric Clapton (“Can’t Find My Way Home”), Stevie Wonder (“Overjoyed”), Michael McDonald (“Moondance”), Sara Bareilles (“I Can Let Go Now”), Ray Parker Jr. (“Daft Funk”), Bob James, Chuck Loeb, David Paich and more.

‘Elton John – The Million Dollar Piano’ Comes to Blu-ray/DVD
 

Franklin, TN (June 11, 2014) – Yamaha Entertainment Group is pleased to announce The Million Dollar Piano concert film will be coming to Blu-ray/DVD this summer. This live Elton John concert, which was screened in 700 cinemas nationwide for a limited time on March 18 and March 26, will be available in stores on July 1 in the United States and on June 30 in the UK, as was secured by Eagle Rock Entertainment.

The special two-hour film was filmed in 2012 and shows Elton John’s legendary performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. His concert, which received rave reviews and a standing ovation over the course of the 3 year residency, features some of his greatest hits, including “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting,” “I’m Still Standing,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Crocodile Rock” and “Your Song.”

At the heart of the Rocket Man’s performance is “The Million Dollar Piano,” the result of a shared dream between Elton John and Yamaha Entertainment Group founder Chris Gero, designed by Yamaha industrial engineer Akie Hinokio. The Yamaha piano features more than 68 LED video screens, providing scenery to each song. In addition to the 19 songs from The Million Dollar Piano, the DVD includes a “Making of…” and four extra tracks.

“We were thrilled with the response to the debut of the film in theaters, and we are equally excited to bring the documentary into people’s homes,” says Gero. “Not only did we document the experience of an Elton John production, but we also documented the design and build of this amazing instrument and the entire show. We’re honored to make and share a piece of history with such an iconic artist as Elton John.”

Elton John is also proud of the results of the Million Dollar Piano: “It’s unlike anything I have done before, a complete mix, a showcase of all my music, accompanied by spectacular scenery and beautiful video images.”

For this Las Vegas experience, Elton John is accompanied by his band members: guitarist Davey Johnstone, the late bassist Bob Birch, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards. There is also a special appearance by percussionist Ray Cooper.

This exclusive concert film was both produced and directed by Yamaha Entertainment Group, a record label based in Franklin, Tennessee. The DVD/Blu-ray track listing is:
