WHEN WE SAT DOWN WITH JOSH GROBAN in 2006, he had this to say, "Not fitting into a specific musical category definitely has its pros and cons," notes pop/classical vocalist Josh Groban. SARAH McLACHLAN - 10 YEARS: A LOOK BACK

PHOTOSHOOT DETAILS DATE NOV. 13, 2008 LOCATION LOS ANGELES, CA ISSUE #18, SUMMER 2008

On Set: This photo shoot was long--4 hours to be exact! Sarah and her team enjoyed Veuve Clicquot, peppermint tea, and sushi throughout the session.

Prior to Sarah's arrival, our piano movers had quite the task at hand. They had to carry a grand piano up two flights of twisting stairs because the service elevator in the 1920s-era building was too small.

COMMENTARY FROM THE PUBLISHER, Chris Gero: "It was one of two back-to-back, sold out shows Elton performed that year at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was so deafening you could hardly hear yourself think. There was a diner-themed party going on backstage to celebrate and promote the recent album release Songs from the West Coast.

On this particular photo shoot, we set up at his JNH studios in Santa Monica, Calif., where we spent a good portion of the day recounting stories of old. In particular, James shared with the crew the tale of auditioning for Elton John in the late '70s.

DAVID BRYAN - FROM BON JOVI TO BROADWAY

PHOTOSHOOT DETAILS DATE AUG. 5, 2003 LOCATION NEW YORK CITY ISSUE #4, SPRING 2002

COMMENTARY FROM THE PUBLISHER, Chris Gero: "It was New York City in December--very cold and pouring down rain. I remember David came over from New Jersey for the photo shoot, which we had arranged to take place at Studio Instrument Rentals (SIR). David is a member of one of the most succesful rock bands in history--Bon Jovi--so when he arrived with no entourage, it was quite surprising and refreshing. Since the Yamaha DX7 era in the early '80s, David has been a dedicated Yamaha artist. On this particular shoot, we were photographing him with a PSR200, which he was using to compose musical theater pieces in his time off from the band."
