Nathan East Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut Performing With Vince Gill

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 15, 2014 — Nathan East, one of the world's most recorded bassists, makes his Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday, Aug. 16 performing with Grand Ole Opry member and MCA Nashville recording artist Vince Gill. The pair are teaming up for a one-night only performance on the Opry stage, during the 8:45 – 9:15 p.m. Central time slot. See the lineup at

“It’s a true honor to have an opportunity to play on the Opry stage for the first time,” East said. “Sharing the experience with my friend Vince Gill and all of the talented musicians in the Grand Ole Opry Band makes it even more special.”

East and Gill will perform “Can’t Find My Way Home,” a song East recorded with Eric Clapton for his self-titled debut solo album, out on Yamaha Entertainment Group. Written by Steve Winwood, the song was originally recorded by the rock band Blind Faith (Winwood, Clapton, Ginger Baker) in 1969.

East is no stranger to performing with some of Country's finest musicians and has recorded albums with Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Dan Seals. Recently, East sat in with Wynonna during one of her Los Angeles performances.

To date, East has also played bass on more than a dozen Eric Clapton albums, most recently The Breeze (An Appreciation of JJ Cale). He is also interviewed in Clapton’s new tour documentary, “Planes, Trains and Eric” set for release Nov. 4.

“Nathan’s played on more than 2,000 records for hundreds of artists of all genres but this Opry performance is a first,” said Chris Gero, Yamaha Entertainment Group Founder & VP. “Thanks to Pete Fisher and the Grand Ole Opry for this special invitation.”

Artists on the evening's bill include Jim Ed Brown, Nathan East, Exile, Vince Gill, Andy Griggs, Aubrey Peeples, Kim Richey, Riders In The Sky, Jean Shepard, Connie Smith and Jimmy Wayne. The show starts at 7 p.m. Central. To purchase tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, visit

Gill achieved his big breakthrough with “When I Call Your Name,” which won the CMA Single of the Year award. Since then, he has won 17 more CMA honors, including Song of the Year four times – making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history. Since 1990, Gill has received 20 GRAMMY Awards and has sold more than 26 million albums. The Academy of Country Music has handed Gill eight awards, including their prestigious “The Home Depot Humanitarian Award” and the 2011 “Career Achievement Award.” Gill was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. LEOGUN Landing Page

leogun lp main image
Leogun are a three-piece rock band from Southeast London, fronted by Tommy Smith. Signing their record deal earlier in May, they are the first band to sign to legendary Yamaha Corporation of America’s new North American label Yamaha Entertainment Group. Leogun spent a few months in Nashville, Tennesse recording their debut album with Yamaha Entertainment Group. The album was recorded with Yamaha Producer Chris Gero and GRAMMY Award winning engineer Bryan Lennox, at Blackbird Studio’s, in the room where Kings of Leon and The White Stripes have recorded many of their hits. The bands roots are in rock and they have a hard-hitting current style. It only seemed right to record the whole album on analogue tape, which is almost unheard of in this age of drum machines, auto-tune and tablet touch screen recording.

This past year has seen Leogun playing festivals in Sweden, Denmark and across England, including Sonisphere and Bestival. And a UK tour and shows across the United States; from 4 shows at the acclaimed industry based SXSW festival to performing in LA with Platinum selling, Grammy winning artists.

Leogun have been described by Dom Fairbanks Weston (endorsement/sponsorship for Foo Fighters, Madonna, The Killers etc) as ‘potentially the next biggest band in the world’ and been praised by Bullet for My Valentine (Pagent) for sounding like “all the greatest bands from the 70s, the music I grew up, but it still sounds new… how the hell have they done that?” Tommy met Dom backstage at an Eagles of Death Metal gig, where he gave him a demo, and after hearing the songs Dom went on to introduce the band to their manager. The band are managed by Rocket Music Management (Elton John, Ed Sheeran, James Blunt).

Leogun’s debut single is due for worldwide release July 31, 2012.

"What stands out is the incredible sound created by this three piece with each musical element rationed out perfectly – sound, rhythm, unexpected breaks an incisive chorus'. With a blend of melodic, in your face rock they hunger to infect their listeners with an addictive and accessible sound." Jar Music

"The band weaves a tapestry of blues, indie and garage rock. Recognised as one of the UK’s best rock bands by the NME and Fly Magazine - They will captivate any audience with their music, energy and showmanship. They are a band with greatness written all over them and their performances are electrifying and should not be missed." Music4 Life Festival

"Leogun are a 3 piece from London, they play their rock hard, in the way Led Zeppelin did in the early seventies. Lead singer Tommy's voice is full of that Plant'esq style that makes you think you've been transported back to the early days of heavy metal. Watch out for them they will rock you hard" Festivals For All music review

"Mad Dog are a superb live act, the album is eagerly anticipated, catch them in these smaller venues while you can, once the album is released its going to be insane." Hughes, Music Week

Jon McLaughlin

Speaking from his home in the Midwest on a beautiful spring day, singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin would strike you as a pretty relaxed guy. As he recounts his numerous accomplishments without any bravado, it would be understandable for McLaughlin to feel like he could coast a little as he prepares to release his third album, Promising Promises (Razor & Tie). Case in point: An aptitude for piano discovered as a child, submersion in all school related music programs, college to continue his study of music, cultivating a big online following in the early days of social media, scoring a label deal at age 21, inking big song placements on television and movies, a performance at the Academy Awards, selling 170k albums, debuting at #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart - pretty heady stuff for a guy from Indiana who just wanted to be able to play like Billy Joel someday.

Todd Alsup

Smart. Fresh. Colorful. Classic. These are just a few words that have been used to describe downtown-NYC pop/soul sensation Todd Alsup. With a potent, powerful voice, virtuosic keyboard skills and a songbook chock full of potential hits, Alsup is poised to make himself a household name. He is a singer/songwriter who weaves good old-fashioned pop songs and delivers them from the gut, rejecting gimmicks in favor of craft and authenticity.
